Capability That Counts

feature image

Sandra leads staff capability initiatives that impact beyond required knowledge and skills, to individual and organisation learning and growth. She believes that all training programs should meet specifically targeted outcomes, while also understanding, developing, nurturing, celebrating, and reinvigorating organisations’ core competencies; those distinguishing connections to core purpose, identity, direction and brand. Training initiatives directed at mandates (what must be done), performance (how things are done), problems (what must improve) and opportunities (what is possible) are all framed within a leadership approach to capability. Using facilitated, guided-independent and social and collaborative approaches, Sandra transcends topic-based training to guide participants to effective action. Her clients experience contemporary, engaging and innovative methodologies where they become co-contributors and creators, leaders and change agents, who demonstrate their learning through their actions and behaviours.

Sandra is a pioneer of e-learning in Queensland, bringing the possibilities of technology to the pedagogy and practicalities of training. Because successful e-learning relies on interdependent business, educational and technology strategies, Sandra works with her clients to ensure these are in the best alignment. She has guided her clients to: - Implement more flexible training delivery options - Embed e-learning into their organisation - Create new training markets - Develop staff capability - Form new strategic partnerships and networks and - Capitalise on existing, low, or no cost resources and applications

As an external facilitator, Sandra works alongside internal change agents: providing research; inventorying knowledge, skills and resources; identifying risks; introducing scaffolding frameworks; clarifying outcomes; and measuring the progress towards success. Her experience in facilitating productive change has been recognised by her appointment as a National Training Change Agent. Sandra’s facilitation interrogates the “whys” and challenges the “why nots” to focus assumptions and expectations; innovates around the “what” to plot the best ways forward; and manages the “when” to set milestone achievements and success measures. As a guide, Sandra recognises the external and internal environments and partners with clients to reach their preferred destinations.
